4.6. USING THE HANDBIKE BATEC HIBRID 2 PARA CONTROLS

You can find out the meaning of all the symbols used on the controls of the
BATEC ELECTRIC HANDBIKE Figure 22. ( ee fig. 22)

Turn on: Turn the key on the right side of the battery clock ise to the ON posi-
tion. It ill do a system check: don t start using your HANDBIKE BATEC HIBRID
until it has finished ith the system check and all the lights are on. ( ee fig. 17)
IMPORTANT!
For the safety check to be completed properly, the heel of the HANDBIKE BATEC
HIBRID must be stopped and the user must have squeezed the brake levers on the
HANDBIKE BATEC HIBRID at least once.

Turn o : Turn the key on the battery anti-clock ise to the OFF position. If you
leave it in the OPEN position, your HANDBIKE BATEC HIBRID ill be o and the
battery ill be ready to remove. ( ee fig. 17)
There are t o operating modes: Assisted manual propulsion and electric mode.
In the first mode, the user propels the handbike using the crank arms and the
motor provides assistance. The second mode is an emergency mode, only for
situations when the user needs to use the handbike without turning the crank
arms due to stability issues.
ASSISTED MANUAL PROPULSION
In Assisted manual propulsion mode, there are 3 levels of help (position 1, posi-
tion 2 and position 3), each ith a light indicator on the display panel. Level 1 pro-
vides the least help and level 3, the most. Users can change bet een the three
levels using the buttons on the right handle. When the HANDBIKE BATEC HIBRID
is s itched on, it ill al ays be in assisted manual propulsion mode, position 1.
The button with the up arrow increases the level and the button with the down
arrow is to switch to a lower level.
