The IO-Link interface is described in section 8 on
page 21.
4.2.3
Position magnet
The BMP can work with axially as well as radially polarized
magnets (configurable) (see chapter 7.3 on page 20 and
configuration guide at www.balluff.com on the product
page).
4.2.4
Magnetic field immunity
The BMP has a magnetic field immunity according to
DIN EN 61000-4-8. Magnetic field immunity makes the
BMP more resistant to strong magnetic fields, such as
those generated during welding, and less prone to failure.
The magnetic field immunity includes both constant
magnetic fields (DC) up to 100 A/m and alternating
magnetic fields (AC) with frequencies in the range of an
electrical alternating voltage of 50...60 Hz.
–
The sensor is not destroyed electrically and
mechanically when installed, even in the event of brief
current peaks of 1000 A/m.
–
The position signal of the sensor is not distorted by the
interference signals, so that the signal is output
continuously.
The external signal suppression IO-Link function can be
used to further reduce sensitivity to interference signals
(see configuration guide at www.balluff.com on the
product page).

Note, tip
Continuous, asynchronous flashing of the status
LEDs indicates a serious error. The BMP may
have to be replaced.
