5.8 Cable routing
Magnetic fields
Ensure that there is sufficient distance between the BMP
and the holding cylinder and strong, external magnetic
fields.
Cable routing
Do not route the cable between the BMP, controller and
power supply near high voltage cables (inductive stray
noise is possible) and ensure EMC-compliant cable laying
or machine installation.
Lay the cable so that the strain on it is relieved (see
chapter 5.10 on page 17).
Bending radius for fixed cable
The bending radius for a fixed cable must be at least three
times the cable diameter.
Cable length
Cable length max. 10 m.
For the analog output longer cables may also be used if
their construction, shielding and routing prevent noise
interference.
5.9 Protect sensor and cable against weld spatter
The sensor surface (touch-sensitive button, status LED)
and the sensor cable can be mechanically protected
against weld spatter using a plastic clip and silicone hose
(see Accessories on page 25).
To reduce sensitivity to interference, external signal
suppression can also be set via IO-Link (see configuration
guide at www.balluff.com on the product page).
