REMOVING THE BLADE
See Figures 13, 14, 15, and 16.
Remove the battery pack from the saw.
WARNING: Failure to remove the battery pack from the saw could result in the saw starting accidentally and cause
serious personal injury.
Loosen the cross point screw on the cover over the blade clamping bolt until the cover can be raised. See Figures 13,
14, and 15.
Gently raise the lower blade guard mounting, releasing the lower blade guard from its groove so that the lower blade
guard and blade clamping bolt cover can be rotated to access the blade clamping bolt. See Figure 14.
Press the arbor lock button in and rotate the blade bolt until the arbor locks. See Figure 16.
Using the blade spanner provided, unscrew and remove the blade clamping bolt.
NOTE: The blade clamping bolt is left hand threaded. Turn the blade clamping bolt clockwise to loosen it.
Remove the outer blade clamping plate. The blade can now be removed.
Your mitre saw has been factory adjusted for making very accurate cuts. However, some of the components may have
become misaligned during transport. It may also be necessary to readjust the settings when the saw has been used for
some time due to wear. After unpacking your saw, check the following adjustments before you use the saw. Make any
readjustments required and check the angles regularly to ensure that your saw is cutting accurately.
NOTE: Many of the drawings in this manual are cut-away drawings to show clearly particular parts of the saw. Only use
your saw when the guards are in place and effective.
11.5
ALIGNING THE MITRE TABLE AND THE FENCE
See Figures 17 to 20.
Remove the battery pack from the saw.
WARNING: Failure to remove the battery pack from the saw could result in the saw starting accidentally and cause
serious personal injury.
Push down on the saw arm and pull out the locking pin to release the saw arm.
Raise the saw arm fully.
Raise the mitre table clamping lever.
Rotate the mitre table until the index is aligned on 0°.
Push the mitre table clamping lever back down.
Put a set square flat down on the mitre table. Place one side of the square against the fence. Place the other side of
the square along the throat plate in the mitre table. The edge of the set square and the throat plate in the mitre table
should be parallel as shown in figure 17.
If the edge of the framing square and the throat plate in the mitre table are not parallel as shown in figures 18 and 19,
adjustment is required.
Using a 6 mm Allen key, slacken the cap head screws securing the fence. See Figure 20. Adjust the fence at the left
or right hand side until the edge of the set square and the throat plate are parallel.
Retighten the screws and check the angle between the fence and the table.
