ALU 1P and ALU 2P programmes
These programmes are used for balancing light aluminium rims requiring the application
of both weights on the same side of the wheel (inner) with maximum precision.
This type of wheel balancer is particularly suitable for application of adhesive weights on the
rim, thanks to the forward position of the wheel in relation to the body, which allows a large
zone on the inside of the rim to be accessed freely.
To access these programmes:
1.
Select the ALU 1P Balancing programme
or ALU 2P Balancing pro-
gramme icon
.
The mask for measuring the unbalance on alloy rims is displayed.
Wheel data acquisition
With this programme, the wheel data relative to the effective balancing planes must be set
instead of the nominal wheel values (as is the case with standard ALU programmes). The
balancing planes to which the adhesive weights will be applied may be chosen by the user
in relation to the configuration of the actual wheel. Bear in mind, however, that in order to
reduce the quantity of weights applied balancing planes should be selected that are as
far apart as possible: if the distance between the two planes is less than 37 mm (1.5"), the
message A 5 is displayed.
Move the end of the automatic measuring arm in line with the plane selected for the application
of the inner weight. In Alu 1 P, the centre of the pawl on the end section of the lever is taken
as a reference for the centre line of the weight (version without the weight holding device). In
versions with the weight holding device, the centre line of the weight must correspond with
UK
the centre of the groove in which the weight will be placed. In ALU 1P, the balancing plane
is about 15mm further back (weight centre line) than the point where the measuring head
touches the rim (Fig.13/13a).
