MACHINE DESCRIPTION
Operating principle:
The main feature of this device is the treatment of water from the water distribution
network by reverse osmosis with the addition of ClO2 (chlorine dioxide) to
demineralize, sterilize and confer it biocidal power while preserving water drinkability.
It exploits the properties of special semipermeable membranes with pores having a
diameter of about 0,0005 micron allowing the passage of water while retaining salts,
bacteria, viruses, pyrogens and organic substances thus applying a state‐of‐the‐art
technology more effective for the elimination of salts and of other substances from
water.
Main components:
The Machine is comprised of two separated devices called respectively Pura
which work synergically.

This device produces, by means of reverse osmosis, highly demineralised water to be
supplied to the water line supplying the dental units (up to 10) and to any autoclave,
besides to the additional cock on the basin of the sterilization room, with correct
pressure and flow, as described below .
The raw water entering the device undergoes a first mechanic filtering through a 5‐
micron polypropylene filter for the removal of all suspended particles; it is followed by
a GAC filter (activated carbon) for the removal of chlorinated substances (sodium
hypochlorite, chlorine dioxide etc.) which are present in drinkable water for
disinfection purposes but are harmful for the osmotic membrane.
Through a diaphragm pump activated by electric motor water is taken to the correct
operating pressure and then treated by reverse osmosis by means of two 100 GPD
membranes working in series to reduce the salt contents of water to values which are
compatible to the water use.
The deriving waste water is discharged while purified water is added with chlorine
dioxide and then stored under pressure in a storage tank waiting to be used. The
system is equipped with minimum and maximum pressure switches governing the
system operation , with a system for the automatic stop of the flow at the inlet and
outlet and a system to be sectionized for the automatic discharge of the tank during
the non activity periods.
