Code strips
The code strip provides the meter with important information on the production-specific proper-
ties of the respective test strip lot. The code strip is always required when a new test strip con-
tainer is opened and before the strips are used. The properties of this lot of test strips are then
stored in the meter. The meter always stores the data of only one code strip per test parameter
(i.e. a total of four codes at a time).
There is a new code strip in each test strip container. Code the meter with this code
■
strip before performing the first measurement with a new lot of strips. Once the
code strip data is stored in the meter, you normally do not need the code strip again.
However, we recommend keeping the code strip. Store the test strip container together
■
with the code strip in the external packaging. That way you always have the code strip at
hand if you should need to recode the meter (e.g., after a prolonged period without
batteries).
WARNING
Do not store the code strip in the test strip container
Store the code strip in the external packaging and not in the test strip
container. If code strip and test strips are stored together, this may
adversely affect the quality of both and may lead to error messages or
even incorrect test results.
