Blood application outside the meter
Checking the applied blood:

8 Withdraw the test strip after opening the
flap (and leave it open).
9 Apply a large hanging drop of blood
directly from the finger to the yellow
sample application area of the test strip.
Heparinized capillary pipettes can be used
to apply blood. Refer to the insert of the
respective test strip.
Do not touch the sample application area with
the finger or the pipette to avoid damaging the
application area.
10 With the measurement chamber flap
open, insert the test strip back into the
meter.
Make sure the application area is com-

pletely covered with blood (example A).
Otherwise incorrect results may be obtained.
If too little blood is applied (example B), do

not try to spread it or to apply more blood
as this may lead to an incorrect result. Repeat
the test with a new test strip.
