Control Testing

Perform a control test regularly to check that the meter and test strips are working properly and
that you are performing the test correctly. For each test parameter a separate control solution is
available. Always perform a control test in the following situations:
When you open a new test strip container.
After replacing the batteries.
After cleaning the meter.
When you doubt that the measured values are correct.
A control test is performed in the same way as a regular measurement with the difference that
control solutions are used instead of blood.
When performing a control test, operate the meter only within the acceptable temperature
ranges for the control solutions. This range is test dependent (refer to the package insert of the
respective control solution):
For Accutrend Control CH1 (Cholesterol): 18-30 °C
For Accutrend Control G or G2 (Glucose)*: 18-32 °C
For Accutrend Control TG1 (Triglyceride): 18-30 °C
For BM-Control Lactate: 15-35 °C
Healthcare Professionals: Refer to the package insert. Follow the applicable government
regulations and local guidelines for quality control.
