BROOM HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

The working height of the broom is adjustable to compensate for bristle wear.
Before adjusting the broom, always check the length of the broom bristles.
Replace the broom if the bristle length is 1-3/4 inch (4.4 cm) or less.
To Adjust the Broom Height...
1 Drive the machine to an area with a level, dry floor and apply the Parking
Brake (50).
2 With the engine running and the Brushes / Broom On-Off Lever (31) ON,
put the Broom Raise-Lower Lever (35) in the SWEEP position (middle
notch). Do not move the machine. Let the broom run for 1 minute. This
allows the broom to polish a strip on the floor.
3 After 1 minute, raise the broom and release the Parking Brake. Move the
machine out of the way, so that the polished strip is visible.
4 The width of the strip should be 1-1/2 inches (3.8 cm).
If the strip is too narrow (or too wide), open the lower access door on the
left side of the machine, loosen the Locknut (C) and adjust the Turnbuckle
(D). The Turnbuckle controls the working height of the sweeping broom.
Lower the broom if the strip is too narrow. Raise the broom if the strip is too
wide. Then tighten the Locknut.

AJUSTE DE LA ALTURA DE LA ESCOBA

Se puede ajustar la altura de funcionamiento de la escoba para compensar el
desgaste de las cerdas. Antes de ajustar la escoba, compruebe siempre la
longitud de sus cerdas. Cambie la escoba si dicha longitud es de 4,4 cm. o
menos.
Para ajustar la altura de la escoba...
1 Lleve la máquina a una zona que tenga un suelo nivelado y seco, y aplique
el Freno de parada (50).
2 Con el motor funcionando y la Palanca de poner y quitar los cepillos y la
escoba (31) en posición ON, ponga la Palanca para subir y bajar el cepillo
(35) en la posición (SWEEP) de barrido (marca central). No mueva la
máquina. Deje que la escoba trabaje durante 1 minuto; con ello la escoba
limpiará una franja del suelo.
3 Tras 1 minuto, levante la escoba y suelte el freno de parada. Mueva la
máquina del sitio en que está, de forma que se vea la franja que limpió.
4 El ancho de la franja debe ser de 3,8 cm.
5 Si la franja es demasiado estrecha (o demasiado ancha), abra la puerta de
acceso inferior, en el lado izquierdo de la máquina, afloje la tuerca (C) de
cierre y ajuste el tensor (D) del tornillo. Este tensor controla la altura de
funcionamiento de la escoba de barrido. Baje la escoba si la franja es
demasiado estrecha; súbala si demasiado ancha. A continuación apriete
la tuerca de cierre.
