2 Safety
The automatic reversing machines have a high degree of ope-
rational safety. Observe the following safety information, in
order to avoid injuries, damage to property and to the appliance
itself.
2.1 Suction flow
Depending on the switch position, a powerful suction or
exhaust flow occurs at the inlet and outlet of the automatic
reversing machine when operating in combination with a side
channel compressor.
Warning!
Objects, articles of clothing and even hair can be
sucked into the inlet or outlet. Danger of injury!
Keep away from the inlet and outlet during operati-
on.
The inlet and outlet of the automatic reversing
machine are equipped with a safety screen as stan-
dard. This may not be removed on any account.
Do not put your hands into the outlet.
2.2 Exhaust flow
Warning!
The outlet of the automatic reversing machine has a
very powerful exhaust flow.
Objects which have been drawn in may be thrown
out at high speed.
Side channel compressors are only suitable for con-
veying filtered air. Foreign bodies or contaminants
must be filtered out without fail before intake into
the automatic reversing machine.
2.3 Use as prescribed
The automatic reversing machines may only be operated with
side channel compressors and are only suitable for operation
with filtered air.
Use with aggressive, toxic or explosive media or media with a
high moisture content is not permissible.
Solid particles or contaminants in the conveyed medium must
be filtered out before intake into the automatic reversing machi-
nes.
The maximum ambient temperature may not exceed +60 °C,
the minimum temperature may not fall below –20 °C.
The automatic reversing machine is not suitable for use in an
explosive atmosphere.
Special designs for use beyond the above described applicati-
ons are available on inquiry. Modifications and adjustments to
the automatic reversing machine are not permissible.
2.4 Noise
Refer to the operating manual of the side channel compressor
on which the automatic reversing machine is assembled for
information on noise emission.
3 Installation
3.1 Transport
Check all components for damage caused in transit before
assembly and initial plant start-up.
3.2 Assembly
The automatic reversing machines are always mounted directly
on the sound absorber housing of the side channel compres-
sor. Remove the flange from the sound absorber housing for
this.
Ensure that the arrows correspond with the flow direction.
Remove the adhesive transport protectors from the supply air
inlet and the exhaust air outlet.
3.3 Electrical connection
☛
Attention!
The work described in this section may only be
carried out by a qualified electrician. Carry out the
connection in accordance with the affixed wiring
diagram and the relevant local regulations.
