Function
The BML is a magnetically coded, non-contact, absolute
measuring system consisting of a sensor head (BML SL1)
and a magnetic tape (BML TSC). The position is
determined based on rugged, two-track coding.
A continuous plausibility check is used to detect measuring
errors. The status of the sensor head is indicated by an
LED (Section 5.2 on page 16). Optional status
monitoring detects the signal quality for evaluating the
excess gain.
The absolute position output is on the IO-Link interface
(Section 6 and 7). These interfaces can also be used to call
up diagnostic data and configuration data.
In addition a low-delay output through an incremental sin/
cos interface (Section 8) is possible especially for feedback
loop tasks.
