Parameter data of IO-Link interface
Access to subindex 0 addresses the entire
object of an index. Access of subindices >0
addresses the individual elements of an index.
6.5.1
Process data configuration (PDV)
The parameters can mutually affect each other.
Therefore we recommend making the settings
in the following order: Output Characteristics,
Offset/Preset Teach, Minimal Negative Position.
Output Characteristics
As shipped, when moving the sensor in the direction of the
arrow the position count is positive. The count direction
can be reversed using the parameter Output
Characteristics. The count direction setting should be
made before the offset setting, since it may no longer be
valid after changing the offset. If the direction needs to be
changed again after setting the offset, the offset should
generally be adjusted again.
Offset, Preset, Teach In Zero Point
The beginning of the magnetic tape does not represent the
measured position 0, but rather the zero point can be at
any desired position within or outside of the magnetic tape.
Crossing the zero point causes a position jump (overrun). If
this overrun is not desired, the position of the zero point
can be changed using an offset or extending the
measuring range (see Minimal Negative Position on page
21).
