IO-Link Smart Sensor Profile (BML SL1-ALZ0-U1ZZ-...) (continued)
There are three ways to move the zero point:
Preferred method: Writing the parameter Preset sets
–
the current position to the value Preset. The value
range of the parameter Preset is −8.19 m...+8.19 m.
The Preset parameter changes the Offset parameter.
–
Alternative 1: By directly parameterizing the offset
parameter the Offset parameter is calculated using the
following formula: Offset = new position (nominal value)
– current position (actual value).
The value range of the parameter Offset is
−8.19 m...+8.19 m.
Alternative 2: Using the system command Teach In
–
Zero Point the current position is defined as 0.
The Preset value affects the parameter Minimal
Negative Position. When writing the parameter
Preset a check is made to see whether the
value Preset lies within the set measuring range.
If the value Preset does not lie in the measuring
range, the measuring range is automatically
adjusted.
The offset and preset can be reset either by using the
system command Reset Offset or by writing a 0 to the
parameter Offset.
Minimal Negative Position
In the standard configuration the measuring range of the
sensor head is 0...8.19 m. If negative values also need to
be output, the measuring range must be adjusted. If the
measuring range is extended in the negative direction, the
measuring range is shortened in the positive direction by
the same amount. The entire measuring length (negative
measuring range limit to positive measuring range limit)
always adds up to 8.19 m. The minimal position value can
be set in two different ways:
–
The negative limit of the measuring range can be
directly entered using the parameter Minimal Negative
Position. The setting takes effect as soon as the
parameter is written.
–
The sensor head is moved to the position which
represents the measuring range limit in the negative
direction. There the system command Teach In
Minimal Negative Position is carried out. The current
position immediately represents the negative measuring
range limit. The sensor head can be moved 8.19 m in
the positive direction without experiencing an overrun.
