4.1.3 Mechanical Unlocking (temporary)

For certain activities (e.g. cycling), it may be benefi cial to temporarily unlock the E-MAG Active
joint. Mechanical unlocking of the system is indicated by the symbol of a cyclist (switch to „
In order to restore functionality of the E-MAG Active joint, cancelling the unlocking feature is re-
quired. To secure the system once again, the switch is operated again in the opposite direction.
The normal position of the joint is indicated by the walking person (switch to „
4.2 Warning Signals
4.2.1 Battery capacity
INFORMATION
The electronics will turn off if the battery is discharged completely. While the lock can still be opened
manually, it is a slightly cumbersome task.
Should the battery capacity fall below the pre-adjusted capacity value, the electronics will release
the warning signals listed here:
Signal
Visual feedback (LEDs)
Battery low
Color-changing fl ashing
(white and red)
Battery empty
The warning signal is repeated every 15 minutes. Replacing the battery immediately is highly
recommended. The number may vary. How quickly the battery is discharged depends on the
ambient temperature: The colder it is, the faster the battery will be drained.
The electronics will turn off if the battery power is insuffi cient. If this occurs, the knee joint can
only be unlocked manually (see chapter 4.1.3).
