Optimum conditions for taking a thermal reading are:
• (outdoors) stable weather conditions / cloudy sky before and during the measurement
• (outdoors) no direct solar radiation before and during the measurement
• (indoors / outdoors) dry conditions / no precipitation
• (indoors / outdoors) clean surfaces
NOTE: Your ROTHENBERGER Thermal Imager is factory calibrated with an optimum focal range of
2 m, which maximizes the thermal overlay properties and image alignment with that of the visual
properties of the camera. This was determined based on the typical indoor work environment of
the plumber.

Cleaning Instruction
1.
Damp alcohol wipes or mild detergent and water to remove dirt and grease from the exteri-
or plastic surface of the product.
2.
Recommended soft optical cloth for cleaning the lens and Germanium thermal lens.
(Note - do not use liquids of any kind on either lens.)
3.
Allow appropriate drying time before operating Hand-Held device after cleaning.
7
Storage
1.
It is good practice to clean the unit prior to long term storage
2.
It is best to store the unit in a cool/ dry location.

Possible Reason
Improper emissivity for
surface being measured
Outside of optimal range of
thermal overlay
Max. / Min. Temp. Settings
are too close together
Opacity setting is too low /
showing minimal thermal
properties
Battery requires additional
charge
Polished surfaces reflect
thermal radiation
ENGLISH
Solution
Refer to user guide / Emissivity
Table
Refer to specification in manual
(2m)
Adjust Max. / Min. Temp
settings apart to add range
Adjust the opacity setting to
add more thermal properties to
the overlay image
Plug base unit in for full charge
refer to user guide for either
