5.4- Amount of knives on the impeller

The chopper impeller (1) of the JF C-40, C-60 and C-
120 is designed to operate with several knife
configurations in according the chart below.
The knives (2) have a profile in ¨C¨, turning possible a
double function: Cut and throw the particles with
maximum performance, without the impeller disc
wearing.
The quantity of knifes in each impeller (1) should take
into account following aspects:
Product (type, age etc).
Purpose of the harvest (silage, daily food etc).
Tractor horsepower.
It is recommended for:
Corn and sorghum hasvests: 12 blades.
Sugar-cane and elephant grass harvests: 4 or 6
knifes.
Knives disassembling (for sugar-cane and grass harvests)
Note:
Tractor shold be turned off, parked and
umcoupled from the PTO.
a) Upraise the shield (3) when equipped.
b) Release the bolts (4) using a wrench according to the
sub-item 12.1 table.
c) Remove the five knifes (2) alternately, releasing the
bolts (5). This way the impeller counterbalancing (1) will
be kept.
Note: When reinstalling the knives for corn and/or
sorghum harvests, follow their assembling correct
position, according to the picture above.
Note:
The knives have cutting edges. Therefore,
the operator should wear gloves with long
fists to reduce the risk of cutting.
