5.2 Patient-Specific Safety Instructions
WARNING
Simultaneous use of the product with active, implanted systems

Injuries due to temporary influences of active implantable systems (e.g. pacemakers, defib
rillators, etc.) due to electromagnetic interference of the product.
→ Do not bring the product into the immediate proximity of active, implantable systems.
CAUTION
Penetration of dirt and humidity

Injury due to faulty control or malfunction of the prosthetic system.
→ Ensure that neither solid particles nor liquids can penetrate into the product.
CAUTION
Mechanical overload caused by mechanical influences or external loads

Injury due to faulty control or malfunction of the prosthetic system.
→ Do not subject the product to mechanical vibrations or impacts.
→ Check the product for visible damage before each use.
CAUTION
Wearing in extreme ambient temperatures

Injury due to faulty control or malfunction of the prosthetic system.
→ Avoid wearing the prosthesis in areas with temperatures outside of the permissible range.

Distance to HF communication devices is too small (e.g. mobile phones, Bluetooth
devices, WiFi devices)
Injury due to faulty control or malfunction of the prosthetic system.

→ Therefore, keeping the following minimum distances to these HF communication devices is
recommended:
• Mobile phone GSM 850/GSM 900: 0.99 m
• Mobile phone GSM 1800/GSM 1900/UMTS: 0.7 m
• DECT cordless phones incl. base station: 0.35 m
• WiFi (routers, access points,...): 0.22 m
• Bluetooth devices (third-party products not approved by Ottobock): 0.22 m
CAUTION
Electromagnetic interference
