4 - Description of the unit
The ICN units are unit coolers, i.e. components of a refrigeration system as defined in Standard EN 378-1.
The ICN range has been specifically designed for use in large cold storage rooms and refrigerated warehouses suitable
for the storage of fresh and frozen products.
The units use ammonia (NH3) as coolant.
Depending on the temperature of the cold storage room, the following models are available:
-
ICN 4 for high temperatures (≥ +2 ° C) with 4.0 mm fin spacing;
-
ICN 7 for medium and low temperatures (≥ –25 ° C) with 7.0 mm fin spacing (a defrost system version is
recommended);
-
ICN 10 for low temperatures (≥ -35 ° C) with 10.0 mm fin spacing (a defrost system version is recommended);
-
ICN 12 for low temperatures (≥ -40 ° C) with 12.0 mm fin spacing (a defrost system version is recommended);
!
The capacities have been calculated considering three recirculations
with pump operating from below.
The standard fan motors used have the following features:
-
diameter 500, 560, 630, 710 and 910 mm, three-phase elecric power 400V/3/50 Hz, dual speed, with external
rotor and steel protection grid treated with epoxy paint.
-
protection rating IP 54;
-
insulation class THCL155 (F);
-
inner thermal contact protection
-
maximum operating temperature: +40 °C.
The units are predisposed for ground wiring connection (class I electrical appliances).
!
The unit installer and/or plant operator must ensure the presence of an efficient earthing
connection to protect against indirect electric contacts.
The electric heating elements eventually used for defrosting are housed in junction boxes made of thermoplastic material
(class II protection against direct electrical contact), with protection rating IP 54.
Upon request, models can be supplied with coils, defrosting units and fan motors different from the standard ones.
