11.4.2 - Fan motors

!
For low ambient temperatures and high air resistance, the performance values of the fans are
changed. For evaporating temperatures below -40°C, please contact the manufacturer.
In the event of long-term storage or shutdown, the fans must be operated for a warm-up period of
2 hours prior to commissioning.

12 - Maintenance

Always use original spare parts and accessories. As well as invalidating the warranty, non-original spare parts could be
dangerous reducing the life and performance of the machine. During maintenance operations on the fans, switch off the
fans and electric defrost heating elements, before beginning maintenance work and secure them so that they cannot be
reactivated.

12.1 - Cleaning

In order to be cleaned, the unit must be disconnected both from the electric mains and cooling
system. The electric connections and electric motors must not be hit with jets of water or vapour.
!
One must only use mild, non-aggressive and non-corrosive detergents to clean the appliance.
The performances for which the heat exchanger of the unit has been designed, and which are guaranteed, can in
fact only be obtained if the heat exchanger is kept clean.
Impurities, frost and/or ice must be removed not only from the fins, but also from the appliance and from the
surrounding area.
Dry dust or dirt can be removed with a brush or compressed air, jet in the opposite direction to the air flow, or
with a powerful industrial vacuum cleaner.
Extremely wet or greasy dirt must be removed using a high-pressure water jet (maximum pressure 1 bar), with a
steam cleaner (maximum pressure 1 bar, at a distance of at least 200 mm from the horizontal nozzle), possibly
using a mild detergent, and directing the jet in the opposite direction to the air flow.
As far as possible, cleaning must be carried out from the inside outwards, as well as from the top downwards.
The jet of the cleaner should be as vertical as possible to the heat exchanger unit (maximum tolerance of ± 5
degrees) to prevent bending the fins.
The presence of water and/or ice could make the area around the unit slippery.
!
The use of personal protective equipment for cleaning activities is delegated to the user's risk
assessment on the basis of the permitted techniques that are used.
