ENGLISH
The knee joints OP5 Knee and KP5 Knee are multiaxial polycentric knee joints with a stable aluminium frame
construction. They are suitable for moderately active users (mobility class 2, 3) and are approved up to a maximum
body weight of 125 kg.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
The OP5 Knee/KP5 Knee is designed for patients with transfemoral and knee disarticulation amputation.
CONTRAINDICATIONS FOR USE
N/A.
Proximal adaptation can be achieved in various ways:
• OP5 Knee: using a pyramid adapter
• OP5 Knee with IKF: using the pyramid of the IKF adapter
• KP5 Knee with lamination adapter: using an anchor plate for lamination
• KP5 Knee with 3-arm socket adapter: using the 3-arm socket adapter for lamination (particularly suited for
interim sockets for knee disarticulation patients)
All these means of adaptation can be continuously adjusted 5 mm in A-P/M-L direction and unlimited rotation is
possible. In the KP5 Knee version with lamination adapter, the supplied adjustment disc also enables the flexion/
extension angle and/or the adduction/abduction angle to be corrected up to a maximum of 10°. All the described
positional adjustments can be made at the trial fitting or at any time thereafter!
The OP5 Knee version with IKF adapter imitates the anatomical heel strike angle of approx. 5- 11°, without
deactivating the safe joint geometry. The use of the Össur IKF adapter reduces the load on the joint chain, the user
can walk safely and less strength is required. Walking on slight inclines and uneven paths is made much easier and
safer through its use.
For each version there are three different progressive buffers (stop bumpers) to choose from that can be
individually varied according to the walking behaviour of the prosthesis user. It can be used for all classes
of mobility.
