ALIGNMENT AND ASSEMBLY OF THE PROXIMAL CONNECTION
• When aligning the socket, watch for flexion contractures and the resulting parallel shift in the entry plane of the
socket with regard to the plumb line, so that the joint can function satisfactorily.
• Always use the Berkeley integrated basic alignment.
OP5 with pyramid adapter
• Slide the washers (27 & 28) over the 40 mm central screw (29), insert this into the central opening in the head
of the joint (26) and tighten the pyramid adapter (32) to a torque of 35 Nm.
• Use a torque wrench (8 mm Allen key) and secure the 40 mm central screw (29) with Loctite.
OP5 with IKF adapter
• Slide the washers (27 & 28) over the 27 mm central screw (31), insert this into the central opening in the head
of the joint (26) and tighten the IKF adapter (36) to 35 Nm. Make sure the A-P alignment of the IKF adapter
(36) is correct.
• Use a torque wrench (8 mm Allen key) and secure the 27 mm central screw (31) with Loctite.

• Depending on the weight limit, the posterior stop buffers are routinely supplied as a triple set
