2.2 Function
If one of the gas container batteries connected to the change-
over device becomes empty, the contact manometer triggers the
change-over process. The respective motor valve closes the
connection to the empty container battery automatically. When
the closing motor valve reaches its end position, the second
motor valve opens the connection to the second container
battery.
Signal lamps indicate the respective position of the valves at the
control panel.
By means of the operation mode switch, the change-over device
can be switched from automatic to manual operation mode. In the
manual operation mode the motor valves are opened and closed
with the keys at the control panel.
The motor valves must be removed for maintenance and repair.
The additional bypass line of the change-over device 185-2
permits operation via manually operated ball valves.
Two potential-free contacts enable the transmission of the
operating status "open" for both motor valves to a control room.
An additional contact transmits an alarm signal, if the pressure
remains below the contact manometer setting for more than
40 seconds.
