5.2.1 Preparation for fitting
1. Apply lubricant to the rim from inside at the rim flan-
ge, the bead seat and the drop center.
2. Also apply lubricant to the two tire beads.
3. Position the tire at an angle on the rim.

5.2.2 Fitting
WARNING – Risk of hand injuries

Never reach between the tire and the rim.
WARNING – Risk of injury to lower part of
body on rotation of clamping plate
Risk of injury from projecting parts of the
clamping plate as it rotates.

Keep a safe distance from the clamping
plate.
¶
Always check that the plastic covers are in
perfect condition.
¶
Never remove the plastic covers.

For Runflat or UHP tires it is advisable to make use
of additional tools such as pliers, wedges or the
bead depressor TECNOROLLER XL (see Sec. 3.4).
1. Turn the clamping plate to move the tire valve to
between 2 and 4 o'clock position.
2. Press the mounting column pedal to move the moun-
ting column into working position.
3. Position the lower tire bead at the top left edge of
the wedge of the mounting head.
4. Whilst actuating the pedal to rotate the clamping
plate, allow the bead to run into the drop center and
keep turning until the lower tire bead reaches the
mounting head and runs under the edge of the rim.

To avoid damaging the tire bead, make sure it runs
into the drop center at the start of the operation.

To facilitate this process it is advisable to press the
bead into the rim as the clamping plate rotates.

In the case of tubed tires, tilt the mounting column
to the rear by pressing the mounting column pedal.
Position the rim such that the hole for the tube valve is
at a roughly 90° angle to the position of the mounting
tool and insert the tube.
5. Repeat the same operations for the upper tire bead.
