5.4.3 Connection of the outlet valve (6)

Fasten one end of PVC tubing (dia. ext. 19 mm) to the outlet valve (6). Cut the
other end off to suitable length and put it into the sink. Secure it against falling out!

5.5 Preparation of operation

Make sure that
• the power switch (7) is switched off (the green pilot lamp does not light up)
• the protective cap (2) is unscrewed
• the water tap is closed
• the stopcock (if any) of your reservoir bottle and the outlet valve (6) of the
apparatus are closed
Now insert the power connector into the power socket.

5.6 Adjusting the water supply

• Turn on the water tap slowly to allow a small amount of water only to run
through the overflow connection (5). The flow capacity then is approx. 0.5 to
1 litre per minute.
• As soon as the water in the evaporator (8) almost covers the heating coil,
switch on the power switch (7). The green pilot lamp (9) lights up.
• As soon as the water in the evaporator (8) starts boiling, slowly reduce the
water amount until vapour leaks out of the degassing outlet (10). Do not turn
off the tap!
• Now slowly increase the water supply until it is just sufficient to stop the vapour
from escaping. Now the water supply is properly adjusted.
Note: When operating the apparatus for the first time, please discard the water
which has been distilled in the first hour of operation.

Do not touch the still body! Danger of burns!
Attention:
Do not accidentally hit the glass vessel with hard objects. There is a risk
of breakage and an additional risk of scalding while the device is in
operation or shortly after it has been switched off.
