5.9.2 Cleaning of the cooling coil (12)

Attention:
Acetic acid flows through the outlet valve and the overflow connection into the
vessel.
As soon as the deposits have dissolved, pour 300 ml of tap water into the
funnel.
After the liquid has flown through, hang the tubing of the outlet valve and
the tubing of the overflow connection back into the sink.

After the apparatus has cooled
down completely, drain the water
out of the evaporator through the
outlet valve (6). The outlet valve
(6) must remain opened!
Hang the tubing ends of the outlet
valve
(6)
and
connection (5) into the vessel for
the disposal of the acid. For safety
reasons place the vessel into a
collection tray.
Firmly screw on the protective cap
(2) on the pressure equalization
opening of the level tube (3).
Disconnect
the
tubing from the tap and insert the
funnel into the free end of this
tubing. Make sure that the funnel
fits tightly!
Now insert the funnel in the stand.
The lower end of the funnel cone
must be on the same level as the
degassing outlet (1).
Use the graduated jug to pour
approx. 300 ml of acetic acid (10
to 50 %) into the funnel. Be
carefully and avoid spilling!
