NOTE: Align the greasing of the cover (3) with the
nozzle in the existing lock ring (5) at both ends. The lock
ring should be greased at closing.
Step 3: Reducing the length of the cardan (if
necessary)
j) Mark the appropriate length for subsequent cutting.
k) Cut the tube (7), bar (8) and the protective tube (6) in
equal measure.
l) With a lime, remove any burrs resulting from cutting
the bar and tubes.
m) Grease the bar (8).
n) Assemble all components of the cardan noting the
assembling position previously mentioned.
In driveshafts made of tube and square
section bar, the terminal of coupling must be
assembled in the same position, that is, the
lugs of the hangers must coincide according
the figure beside.
To lubricate the cardan, the machine must be
disconnected and the cardan disengaged.
Incorrect or insufficient lubrication will result in
overheating of bearings, along with the
locking and breaking of the cardan, which can
cause serious injury to people nearby.
Not following the minimum measures of the
cardan (see figure), can cause disruption of
the same, along with the launching of shares
in indeterminate directions.
