ABOUT THE DOUBLE DRAGSTER HOBBY EDITION
AMT's Double Dragster has been one of the most requested kit reissues for well over
a decade. As many builders and collectors know, the kit was last released by Ertl in 1992
as a Blueprinter magazine subscriber's exclusive. The packaging was a plain white card-
board box leaving something to be desired. The Fiat portion of the kit's contents reflected
AMT's mid-70s "Fiatsco" release, with racing wheels that were current from that era and
"Pro Street" tires from an even later period.
For this Hobby Edition of the Double Dragster, we've sought to recreate the very first
release, including the "missing" set of original wheels appearing in the 1960's issues of
the model. While that second set of wheels wasn't chromed in the original releases like it
is in this kit, you can easily strip the plating off, if you so desire. After all these years, you
can finally build AMT's Double Dragster with all the great original parts! We've also left
the Fiatsco's "Center Line" style wheels in the kit as a bonus.
For the decal sheet, included is as much artwork as possible from the original issue, along
with several new designs. To top it off, there's two sets of newly retooled vintage "pie
crust" racing slicks.
By popular demand, this instruction sheet is a reproduction of the beautiful original
two-color artwork by AMT's Dave "Copy Kat" Wilder. We've even included a reproduc-
tion of the drag racing information booklet included with the early issues of the kit! Fire
up the time machine, and get ready for a quarter mile of memories.

model car kits of all time: AMT's Double Dragster!
