Sound pressure level measurement

Carefully read the "Noise" section in General Warnings code 3301151.
The plasma cutting process can give rise to noise levels that are damaging for the human ear and therefore appro-
priate protections must be worn, for example, headphones or earplugs that comply with national or local regulations.
The measurements in the following table, which relate to mild steel and were taken at the distances indicated, may
help the safety officer to adopt all measures required to make the working environment safe (for example, refer to
international standard IEC 60974-9).

The measurements, lasting 1 minute each, were taken indoors, in a reverberating environment, at the CEBORA S.p.A.
workshops.
The measurements taken do not take into account any corrections due to background noise or the size of the test
premises.
Peak sound pressure levels LpA and LpC are defined by international industry standards (see IEC 11202 and IEC
61672-1).
