1. Pre - Installation Checks

Prior to fitting the service drive unit the concentricity of the AVM2-PC anti-backlash coupling fitted to the
test stand must be checked and it must not exceed the limits as outlined below.
Max Limit 0.008" / 0.20MM TIR
To check the concentricity of the AVM2-PC anti backlash coupling the following procedure should be
followed: -
Equipment required: - Magnetic base and DTI (dial indicator with a resolution 0.001"/0.2mm).
1. Fit drive guide 182-18-17 to the anti backlash coupling (originally supplied with the AVM2-PC).
2. Locate the magnetic base and the DTI onto the AVM2-PC test bed next to the AVM2-PC anti
backlash coupling.
3. Position the probe of the DTI indicator on the AVM2-PC anti backlash coupling as shown in the
diagram below (fig 3) so that the indicator can move up and down and set to zero.

4. Rotate AVM2-PC anti backlash coupling 1 complete turn using the AVM2-PC Test stand nudge
function of the AVM2-PC. Monitor the DTI indicator during the revolution. There should be no more
than 0.008" / 0.20MM variation.
5. If the concentricity of the AVM2-PC anti backlash coupling is greater than specified above, do not
attempt to fit or run the ADC298 Lubricated Service Drive Unit. Contact your distributor immediately
for advice.
