− Upholsteries: are assembled on a very resistant frame, covered with soft foam and coated with flexible
laminated PVC or leather, it is easy to aseptic of the set.
− Mechanical structure: manufactured in SAE 1020 rolled steel profiles and welded by the MIG process, it
gives the whole resistance, durability and low weight.
− Electrostatic painting: it is applied to all structural metal parts of the equipment. The special polyurethane
paint provides the equipment with high durability coating and has antibacterial properties according to
JIS Z 2801: 2000, where in 24 hours, the bacterial reduction is greater than 99.9%.
− Plastic covers: made of high-strength ABS with acrylic cover, the fairings do not require painting, which
facilitates surface polishing to repair small scratches or wear.
− Electrical system: the equipment can work in frequencies of 50 or 60 Hz and can be configured to be
connected to the voltages of 118/127/220/230 Volts by an authorized technician. The maximum
supply voltage of electronic boards, motors, and other controls is 24 V. The electrical system has
On/Off switch and protection fuses.
− Spindle drive motor: all motors used in the equipment are produced by Bosch Brazil. This motors presents
low noise, the absence of oil reservoirs, uniformity in displacement, reduction of energy consumption
and low cost for maintenance. Regarding safety, the motors have protection systems that act on the
mechanical and electrical parts of the set.
− Pressurized suspension: the Logic and Infinity chairs feature a high-pressure nitrogen cylinder, which
relieves the load of electromechanical lifting components by 100 kg.
− Handpiece holders: built-in ABS, they have vanes to activate the valve of the holder, which interrupts the
operation of the instrument when it is placed in its respective holder.
4.1 - Valves
The valves used in the equipment's hydro-pneumatic system have been developed to ensure its
performance and durability, built-in nonferrous metal with chromium coating.
− Command valves: releases spray to the pneumatic handpiece, with a piston system to achieve stagnation
and non-retraction of water;
− Pressure-regulating valves: guarantee the stability of the propulsion pressure of the instruments, also
allowing the adjustment according to the specifications of the handpieces. The factory setting is 2.2 bar
of air pressure for high-speed handpieces with a regulated flow of 35 liters of air per minute and 2.4
bar for low-speed handpieces with 55 liters of air per minute.
− Handpiece holder valves: also called pilot valves, they release or interrupt the propulsion air to the
handpiece when it is removed from the holder.
5.1 - Pre-Installation
The pre-installation is the suitability of the environment for the installation of the equipment. This step
should be guided by Olsen authorized assistance to ensure that the installation environment is suitable to receive
the new dental equipment. Currently, all water connections, compressed air, drainage, electrical power supply
and definition of the installation position of the equipment with its accessories are prepared.
This equipment is not designed to be installed or operated in a surgical center.
5.1.1 - Equipment Positioning
The positioning of the equipment and its power connections must comply with the dimensions of the
installation template, provided by Olsen in digital format (PDF) together with the confirmation of the order of its
equipment.
5.2 - Compressed Air
The recommended dental compressor must be oil-free, with a dynamic pressure between 5.5 and 7.0 bar
(80 to 100 PSI), a displacement of 150 L/min and a reservoir of 30 L.
It is recommended to use a filter in the entrance of the equipment to prevent the entry of moisture, particles
and other contaminants, which can not only cause problems in the pneumatic system of the equipment but also
harm the procedures and the patient.
