5.0 - PREPARING THE GENERATOR

Once the packaging has been removed, the generator must be installed on the special
trolley cod.604970000L reading the instructions enclosed in the assembly kit. It will
then be possible to connect also the cooling unit AWC K-P cod.605300000L following
the assembly instructions supplied with the unit.

- ARC WELDING

Preparing the machine
Electrode welding (MMA) may be carried out in various ways, depending on the
specific requirements of the operator. In this case you must proceed as follows to
prepare the machine:
a) Connect the earth cable to the negative socket (ref.37 page 9) at the rear of the
generator.
b) Connect the electrode holder to the positive socket (ref.36 page 9) at the rear of the
generator.
c) Insert the bare core of the electrode in the electrode holder.
d) Insert the plug in a power socket complying with the regulations in force.
e) Switch on the machine, turning the switch on the rear panel to position "1".
When the generator is switched on, all the signals will be displayed for about 2
seconds; then the displays (ref.5-7 page 9) will show the type of welding selected for 2
seconds.
Regulating the electrode mode welding parameters
1) Press the SELECT MODE button (ref.29 page 9) until the Electrode mode led (ref.34
page 9) lights up.
2) The letters arc will appear on the display (ref.5 page 9) for 2 seconds.
3) The weld enable led lights up (ref.2 page 9)
4) Regulating the welding current -The A/wire speed encoder (ref.6 page 9) is used to
