1. Safety regulations and installation notes
•
When working on the device, observe the national safety rules and regulations for the
prevention of accidents.
•
Disregarding these safety regulations may result in death, serious personal injury or major
damage to the equipment.
•
Replace the device when the first fault is encountered.
•
This device may only be started up, assembled, modified or retrofitted by an authorised
electrician.
•
Before working on the device, disconnect the power.
•
For emergency stop applications, a higher-level control system is required in order to
prevent machines from restarting automatically.
•
During operation, parts of the electrical switching devices carry hazardous voltages!
•
If "Automatic Reset" mode is used and a control signal is present, the drive is switched on
again after the cooling time has expired. The cooling time is 20 minutes.
•
Do not subject the device to mechanical and/or thermal loads that exceed the specified
thresholds.
•
Install the device in an appropriate housing with a suitable degree of protection according
to IEC/EN 60529 to protect against mechanical or electrical damage.
•
Install the device as specified in the installation instructions. Access to circuits inside the
device is prohibited.
•
Do not repair the device yourself. Replace it with an equivalent device instead. Repairs
may only be carried out by the manufacturer. The manufacturer is not liable for damage
as a result of non-compliance.
•
The safety data can be found in this documentation and in the certificates.
•
The device carries out diagnostics on the functions when the drive is switched on and
when it is switched off. ln addition, an authorised electrician or a specialist who is familiar
with the relevant standards can conduct a "Motor overload protection" safety function test.
For this test, the drive must be operated with ACW (anticlockwise) or CW (clockwise)
rotation (running forward or reverse) and the current flow in a conductor interrupted (for
example by removing the fuse in the L1 or L3 phase). The hybrid motor starter then
switches off the drive within 1.5 to 2 s. The LEDs for ACW or CW rotation go out, the
DIAG-LED is set and the feedback can be queried via the bus.
•
For safety-related applications, secure the device by using access protection.
•
Only use power supply units with safe isolation and SELV/PELV in accordance with EN
50178/VDE 0160 (SELV/PELV). This prevents short circuits between the primary and
secondary circuits.
•
Operation in a closed cabinet
•
Observe the minimum permissible load current for safety-related applications:
3 A devices: ≥ 180 mA
9 A devices: ≥ 1.5 A
