Operating Instructions SATA FDG
■ Screw the gland in so that the agitator shaft can be turned by hand
without applying force.
■ Push the upper collet [16‑4] onto the agitator shaft.
■ Tighten the grub screw [16‑10] in the upper collet.
■ Mount the hand crank [16‑3] on the agitator shaft.
■ Mount the cover with manual agitator on the material pressure tank.
■ Close the material pressure tank (see chapter 10.4).
SATA FDG 24 / 48 with pneumatic agitator without gear
Disassembly:
■ Open the material pressure tank (see chapter 10.4).
■ Remove the cover with pneumatic agitator without gear.
■ Loosen the lock nut [17‑7] and the hex screw [17‑8].
■ Loosen the grub screw [17‑16] in the collet [17‑15] under the hub
[17‑9].
■ Push the collet with the washer [17‑17] down to the bottom of the agita-
tor shaft [17‑3].
■ Unscrew the hex nut [17‑13] from the agitator shaft.
■ Pull the agitator blade [17‑12] from the agitator shaft and loosen the
grub screw [17‑11] in the collet [17‑14] over the agitator crossbeam
[17‑10] (see chapter 11.5).
■ Push the pneumatic motor [17‑1] and flex coupling [17‑2] with the agita-
tor shaft up out of the holder [17‑18].
■ Loosen the grub screw in the lower half of the coupling.
■ Remove pneumatic motor with flex coupling.
■ Pull the agitator shaft down out of the hub.
■ Unscrew the gland [17‑5].
■ Remove the O-ring [17‑4] from the gland.
■ Take the gland packing [17‑6] out of the hub.
■ Possibly drive the brass bushing [17‑19] up out of the hub.
Assembly:
Damage from unsuitable tools
Unsuitable tools can damage the brass bushing during assembly.
→ Insert the brass bushing carefully, using a special tool.
■ Possibly insert the brass bushing [17‑19] in the hub [17‑9].
■ Push the agitator shaft [17‑3] into the hub from below.
■ Wind three graphite cords [17‑6] around the agitator shaft and press
