PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

DSC80 is a detection board that allows constructing protection control units with sensing devices
characterised by a constant resistance of 8.2KΩ used to automate doors, gates and garage doors. DSC80
has 2 separate relay outputs which act simultaneously and whose condition is linked to the status of the
safety device. DSC80 associated with suitable electro-sensing devices and appropriately connected to
the control units can be used to construct category 3 safety devices in compliance with EN 954-1. DSC80
has a TEST input to be used in control units equipped with the safety device test function according to
category 2 of EN 954-1. DCS80 alone is not a safety device but only a part thereof.
OPERATION
Two windows comparators are built into the DSC80, connected to the 2 output relays RL2 and RL3. When
the resistance value of the safety device remains within the acceptable range, the comparators deactivate
the two relay outputs. As soon as the resistance falls outside the limits, the comparators deactivate the
outputs: When the DCS80 is connected to a control unit with a frame input (Saf.Dev.) connect one of the
two outputs to the input frame (Saf.Dev). The power supply must be connected between the input +
SAFETY and the common input.

INSTALLATION WARNINGS

• Before proceeding with installation, check that no voltage arrives at the system; if a backup battery is
present, it must be disconnected.
• Make the connections referring to the following tables and to the attached screen-print. Incorrect
installation or improper use of the product may compromise system safety.
• Keep all the materials contained in the packaging away from children, since they pose a potential risk.
• Use conductors with a minimum cross-section of 0.50 mm²
