3)
Screw in the Allen screw (wrench size 5 mm) and tighten to 20 Nm. Use a 710D4 torque
wrench.
Note!
When tightening the screw (wrench size 5 mm), ensure that the toothing of the
movable pyramid adapter and of the tooth rack engage correctly.
Attention!
Loosening and tightening of the screw (20 Nm) affects the structural strength of
the screw connections.
Therefore, use the possibility of moving the pyramid adapter exclusively for correction
of the prosthetic alignment and for adaptation of the alignment to changing flexion
contractures of the patient during rehabilitation. Loosen the screw connection which
is tightened to 20 Nm no more than 5 times! Keep records of the set values.
Caution!
If the above instructions are not observed, the knee joint can come loose from the
pyramid adapter and cause the patient to fall.
4)
Close the plastic flap. Pull the O-ring over the plastic flap, extend the knee joint, and lock it in
place. Bring the O-ring to the uppermost position. The O-ring rests loosely on the plastic flap
(Fig. 5).
5)
Grasp the O-ring on both sides with your fingers (Fig. 6) and pull it into the groove of the plastic
flap. Do not roll the O-ring on the plastic flap, since this would twist the O-ring and may cause
it to jump out later.
Note!
The O-ring must remain fixed in the groove when the knee joint is extended and
when it is flexed!
Attention!
Do not use any sharp-edged tools such as a screwdriver or pliers to position the
O-ring, since this could damage the O-ring.
7.4 Prosthetic Feet
Depending on the patient's functional demands, the following prosthetic feet can be used:
Single Axis Foot (1H...); SACH Foot (1S....); or Dynamic Foot (1D10/1D11). For patients with a
body weight of up to 75 kg/165 lbs, the 1G6 or 1G9 Light Foot is recommended.
For the weight limits of prosthetic feet, please refer to the Instructions for Use of the respective
foot component.
7.5 Mounting the Tube Adapter to the Knee Joint
1)
Determine the tube length and cut off the tube. Use a tube cutter (e.g. 719R2 Otto Bock Tube
Cutter) to shorten the tube. Do not clamp the tube into a vise to avoid deformation and surface
damage of the tube! The cutting plane must be level and at a right angle to the longitudinal axis
of the tube.
2)
Debur the inside and outside of the tube using an interior and exteriour pipe reamer
(e.g. 718R1 Otto Bock Interior and Exterior Pipe Reamer).
