Mirror
Using unclean tip mirror for scanning may cause bad quality of final result or bad
scanning experience. In this situation, you can clean the mirror following steps
▪
Remove the scanner tip
▪
Apply alcohol to a clean cloth or cotton-tipped swab and wipe the tip mirror until
it is clean. Use alcohol that is free of impurities, as those may stain the mirror.
Ethanol or propanol (ethyl-/propyl alcohol) can be used.
▪
Wipe the mirror dry with a dry, lint-free cloth to avoid leaving dust and fiber on the
mirror.
▪
Make sure there are no dust or fibers on the mirror and repeat the above process
until it disappears.
4.2.3
Handpiece
After treatment, clean and disinfect all other surfaces of the handpiece except
scanner front (optical window) and end (air vent hole).
Cleaning and disinfecting must be done with the device turned off. Use the device
after it is completely dry.
Recommended disinfection solution:
Denatured alcohol (aka. ethyl alcohol or ethanol) – typically 60-70% Alc/Vol.
Following is the general cleaning and disinfecting procedure.
▪
Turn off the device using power button.
▪
Unplug all cables from the power hub.
▪
Attach the handpiece cover to the front of scanner.

▪
Apply the disinfection solution to a soft lint-free non abrasive cloth.
▪
Wipe the scanner surface with a cloth dampened with disinfectant.
▪
Remove liquid with a clean, lint-free dry, non-abrasive cloth.
CAUTION
▪
Do not clean the handpiece with the device is turned on.The fluid may enter the
scanner and cause malfunction.
▪
Use the device after it is completely dry.

Other components
▪
Apply the disinfection solution to a soft lint-free non abrasive cloth.
▪
Wipe the component surface with a cloth dampened with disinfectant.
▪
Remove liquid with a clean, lint-free dry, non-abrasive cloth.
4.3 Disposal
CAUTION
▪
The scanner tip must be sterilized before disposal. Sterilize the tip as described
above.
▪
Dispose the scanner tip as you would other clinical waste.
▪
