CVT Inlet Filter
A CVT Inlet Filter (751-12642) is installed in the inlet pipe of the
CVT located under the passenger seat. This filter will prevent
large objects from entering the CVT inlet tube and causing
damage to the fan blades, clutch, belt etc. It is necessary to clean
this filter after ever 20 hours of use or more often under dusty
conditions.
To clean the CVT inlet filter, follow these steps:
1.
Pivot the passenger seat forward to gain access to the CVT
inlet filter.
2.
Pull the filter out of the CVT inlet tube, shown in Figure 5-12,
and wash with soapy water.
3.
Fully rinse the filter and allow it to dry completely, either
on its own, or by flattening it between two paper towels,
or blowing it out gently with compressed air. Reinstall filter
into the CVT inlet tube. Never wring the filter out to dry.
IMPORTANT:
Do not use any filter oil on the CVT inlet filter.
Only wash with soapy water, rinse, dry and reinstall. Replace the
filter when it becomes worn or damaged.

Adjusting the Throttle Cable

(Gas Powered Units Only)
An adjustment is provided in the throttle cable, should such
an action be necessary. To locate the cable adjustment, pivot
the passenger seat forward and locate the adjustment in the
throttle cable running along the right side of the UV below the
passenger seat. See Figure 5-13.
1.
Loosen the locking nut and thread the adjustment nut
inward or outward in order to maintain at minimum 1/16"
play in the cable when the pedal is in a fully released (idle)
position.
2.
Once adjustment is complete, retighten the locking nut.

Measuring the Tire Circumference
NOTE: The "Point Setting" is the number of magnets read for one
revolution. With this setup, the input into the gauge is two.
1.
The circumference of the standard trail tire at 16 psi is
76.25". The formula for figuring out the input into the
gauge is as follows:
Tire Circ. x Conversion Factor = Tire Circ. in mm
76.25" x
7.551
2.
In this instance you would round the result (575.8) up
to 576 and input that number into the gauge under Tire
Circumference.
3.
If the tire pressure or size of your tire is different, the
circumference of your tire must be measured to ensure that
the speedometer remains accurate.
