Switch off engine.
Switch on the ignition and put the vehicle in reverse.
The control unit signals the start of the learning process with a double beep.
If there is no beep after engaging reverse gear, look for a fault.
1.8 Set-up troubleshooting
A single long tone must sound within 100 seconds - this tone denotes that the learning process has been completed
successfully.
If the learning process is not confirmed as complete by the single, drawn-out tone within 100 seconds, you must
carry out troubleshooting.
1.8 Set-up troubleshooting
After the system has issued an audible signal to indicate successful completion of the learning process and the
ignition has been switched off, disconnect the blue wire from the power wiring harness.
Insulate the ends of the cut wires.
This ends the set-up process.
Check the parking distance warning functions in accordance with the enclosed operating instructions.
If all of the parking distance warning functions work correctly, complete the final installation process.
1.9 Final installation
If the parking distance warning system malfunctions, perform troubleshooting and then carry out the set-up again.
1.8 Set-up troubleshooting
Note
Setup can be carried out again after the cut blue single wire is reconnected.
1.8 Setting up troubleshooting
Note
If the fault has been found and rectified, the parking distance warning system must be set up again.
1.7 Setting up the parking distance warning system
Note
If the reversing light bulb is defective, the power is cut off by the control unit and the fault is displayed in the instrument
panel inset. The parking distance warning system will not work in this case either.
Page 6 - Figure 1
If there is no tone after switching on the ignition and engaging reverse gear, check the power supply and the
connections to the control unit -3-.
With reverse gear engaged, is the supply voltage to connector -2- 12V?
Troubleshooting as per the wiring diagram
Is the buzzer connector plug -4- connected correctly?
Is the blue single wire from the power supply wiring harness already cut? Reconnect if necessary.
If within a max. of 100 seconds after the double beep (start of the learning process) a single, drawn-out tone does
not sound to confirm the end of the learning process, check the sensor connections -1-.
If within a max. of 100 seconds after the double beep (start of the learning process) a single, drawn-out tone does
not sound to confirm the end of the learning process, but an intermittent beep is heard instead, then the obstacle
behind the vehicle has not been detected.
Check the distance to the wall, correct as necessary, or align with another obstruction at a distance of 50 cm.
1.9 Final installation
Use the supplied cable ties to secure all of the parking distance warning system wiring to existing wiring or brackets
in the vehicle to prevent rattling noises.
Reattach all of the trim elements in the reverse order.
