9.2 COOLING SYSTEM
ANOMALY
the compressor will
- power failure
not start
- temperature setting on probe is too high
- faulty temperature probe
- the over-load protection of the compressor is
faulty
- the starting relay is faulty
- the starting capacitor is faulty
- the compressor is faulty
the water is cold but
- little ventilation
the appliance is ope-
- the condenser is dirty or covered
rating excessively or
non-stop
- the thermostat is on maximum cold position
- the room temperature is higher than 32°C
the compressor works
- gas leak from the cooling system
continuously, but the
- the compressor is faulty
water is not cold
COOLING SYSTEM
too much noise co-
- the machine is not levelled
ming from the applian-
- a few pipes are touching some parts inside the
ce, but it is working
appliance, thus causing it to vibrate
normally
cold water comes out
- low pressure of the inlet water
slowly or not at all
- faulty solenoid valve
board, causing the ice bank to freeze
CARBONATING SYSTEM
the carbonated water
- the pressure of the gas in the CO2 reducer is set
to less than 3 bars
at all
- CO2 cylinder empty
- the temperature of the outlet water is high
- air bubbles inside the carbonator
only gas comes out of
- the level probes are dirty
the carbonated water
- the pump turns continuously
outlet
- the pump turns continuously, inlet water is pre-
sent
- the pump is blocked or the pump-motor is not
working
- the level controller is faulty
- the pump safety device has intervened (no wa-
ter)
continuous
dripping
- dirty solenoid valve
from the outlets
the still water comes
- there is a shortage of inlet water
out carbonated
POSSIBLE CAUSE
INTERVENTION
- check that there is voltage in the plug
- set the temperature probe to a lower temperature
- check electrical continuity on the probe or replace the probe
- replace it
- replace it
- replace it
- replace it
- place the appliance away from the wall
- clean the condenser or free it of its obstacles
- adjust it
- it is normal that the appliance works at a continuously high room tempe-
rature
- contact a specialised technician (refrigerationist)
- replace the compressor
- level the appliance using the adjustable feet
- adjust the position of the pipes, making sure they do not touch any other
parts
- take steps to increase the pressure (autoclave)
- replace it
- replace it
- let the ice melt and raise the temperature. If the result is unsatisfactory
replace the temperature probe or the electronic board
- increase up to 3.5 – 4 bars
- replace it
- set the probe to a lower temperature
- clean out the carbonator
- control and replace
- check it and replace it
- control and replace
- check that there is pressure in the network
disconnect and reconnect the machine from the electrical network to re-
set it
- disassmeble the solenoid valve and clean it
- disassemble and clean or replace
