Cleaning of air cleaner

nter al o Cleaning and nspection
1. oosen the knob bolt 1 .
2. emo e the air cleaner co er 2 .
3. ake out the element 3 and remo e any dirt with the brush.
NOTE:
he element is a dry type and should not get wet. Ne er wash with water.
4. eplace the element with a new one i it is damaged or ery dirty.
5. ipe o any oil that has come into contact with the breather with a rag or cloth.
6. nstall the element in the cleaner case 4 .
7. Attach the air cleaner co er and tighten the knob bolt.
DANGER:
Clean the element se eral times a day, i e cessi e dust adheres to it.
operation continues with the element remaining not cleared o oil, oil in the air cleaner may all outside, resulting in oil contamination.
Checking the spark plug
CAUTION:
hen remo ing the spark plug, clean the spark plug and cylinder head rst, so that no dirt, sand, etc. will enter the cylinder.
ou must remo e the spark plug a ter the engine has cooled down in order to a oid damaging the threaded hole in the cylinder.
he spark plug must be installed properly into the threaded hole.
1. pening closing the plug co er
o open the plug co er, pull up on the seam o the plug co er projection and slide
in the direction o the EN indication as shown in the gure at right.
hen closing the co er, slide the co er in the C
the plug co er projection rides o er the engine co er. inally, push in the projection.
2. emo ing the spark plug
se an attached bo wrench to remo e or install the spark plug.
3. Checking the spark plug
he clearance between two electrodes o spark plug
0.7 to 0.8 mm. Adjust to the correct clearance when it is too wide or too narrow.
Clean thoroughly or replace the spark plug i it has accumulated carbon or
contaminated.
4. eplacing the spark plug
or replacement, use N K-CM 6A.
