GENERAL SAFETY RULES
WARNING! Read all instructions.
Failure to follow all instructions below may result in fire and/or serious injury.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
1. Work area
a. Keep the work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents.
b. Do not use the auger in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids,
gases or dust. The auger creates sparks that can ignite the dust or fumes.
c. Keep children and bystanders away while using the auger. Distraction can cause you to
lose control.
2. Personal Safety
a. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating the auger. Do
not use the auger if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A
moment of inattention while using the auger can result in serious personal injury.
b. Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as a dust mask,
non-slip safety shoes, helmet or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce
personal injury.
c. Prevent accidental starting. Carrying the auger with your finger on the switch whose auger is
turned on will cause an accident.
d. Remove any adjusting keys or wrenches before turning on the auger. A wrench or wrench
attached to a rotating part of the auger could result in personal injury.
e. Do not exaggerate. Keep a good foundation and balance at all times. This provides better
control over the auger in unexpected situations.
f. Dress appropriately. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves
away from moving parts. Loose clothing, jewelry or long hair can get caught in moving parts.
g. If there are devices for connecting dust extraction and collection facilities, make sure they are
connected and used correctly. The use of these devices can reduce dust-related hazards.
3. Using the auger and maintenance
a. Do not force the auger. Use the correct device for your application. The right tool will do the
job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b. Do not use the auger if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any appliance that cannot be
controlled by the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c. Set the auger to the OFF position before changing accessories or storing the auger. Such
preventive safety measures reduce the risk of accidentally starting the auger.
d. Keep unused devices out of the reach of children and do not allow anyone unfamiliar with the
auger or who has not read these instructions to operate the auger. The device is dangerous in
the hands of untrained users.
e. Maintain the auger. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts,
and other conditions that may affect the auger's operation. If damaged, have the auger
repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained.
f. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Well-maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are
less likely to seize and are easier to control.
g. Use the auger, accessories and tool bits, etc. in accordance with these instructions and in the
manner intended for the specific type of tool, taking into account the working conditions
and the work to be performed. Use of the tool for activities other than those intended can lead
to a hazardous situation.
4. Service
a. Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement
parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
