CUTTING THE FORK'S PIVOT
WARNING!
Cutting the fork's pivot is an irreversible
operation! You will no longer be able
to reach the "upper" positions of the
stem once the fork's pivot is cut!
If you have the slightest doubt
concerning the cutting of the pivot, at
first ride your bike with the pivot not
cut so as to make sure of the necessity
of the procedure.
1.Remove the stem, the rubber spacer (8) as
well as the carbon spacer ring (9).
2. Place the cutting tube (12) on the headset's
ring.
3. Cut the fork's pivot with a hacksaw in good
condition by following the upper surface of
the cutting tube (12).
OR
4. Draw a mark on the fork's pivot by following
the upper surface of the cutting tube (12).
5. Remove the cutting tube (12).
6. Position a hacksaw guide on the cutting
mark and cut the tube with a hacksaw in
good condition.
ASSEMBLING & MOUNTING
1. Insert one of the half shells (7), horizontally
in the stem's body, then insert the second
half shell (the stops should be opposite
and positioned towards the front: Fig 3).
2. Turn the shells 90° so that the stops are at
the top of the stem's body. (Fig 4)
