Connecting the AirFlow S2
Please note - It is advisable to keep the original packaging of the unit. Keep the
packaging for storing or transporting the unit.
The following are required for operating the unit:
-
A cold water supply of between 1.0 and 5.0 bars (100 - 500 kPa)
-
A compressed air supply of between 4.5 and 7.0 bars (450 - 700 kPa) > 15 Nl/min
-
An electrical outlet
Caution - Only connect your AirFlow S2 to clean, dry and oil-free compressed air.
You need four quick-link couplings to connect the AirFlow S2. The two quick-link
couplings for connecting the water hose (29) and compressed air hose (27) to the unit
are supplied with the AirFlow S2. You require two additional quick-link couplings for
connecting the AirFlow S2 to the water/air supplies in the practice. As various
couplings are available for water and air, they cannot be supplied with the unit. Please
order them from your dealer.
Begin by removing the two caps from the back of the unit.
Plug the quick-link coupling on the grey water hose (29) onto the connector (30) on the
right hand side of the back of the unit. Ensure that the quick-link coupling clicks onto
the connector (30).
Then plug the quick-link coupling on the reddish grey compressed air hose (27) onto
the connector (28) at the back of the unit on the left hand side. Ensure that the quick-
link coupling clicks onto the connector (28).
To connect the footswitch (23), plug the two thin hoses onto the tubes of the coupling.
Please be certain to plug the short end of the hose onto the long metal pins of the
footswitch connection (24) and the long end of the hose onto the short metal pins of
the connection (24). Then push the protective cap over both thin hoses, to the stop.
Press the Piezon handpiece hose (6) onto the Piezon unit coupling (25) on the left-
hand side of the front of the unit. Then press the AirFlow handpiece hose (18) onto the
right-hand coupling (26) on the front of the AirFlow S2.
Use the power cable (31) to connect the unit to the power supply. Before connecting,
check that the rated voltage specified on the back of the AirFlow S2 corresponds with
the local line voltage of your dental office. The rated voltage of the unit must be the
same as the local line voltage, otherwise the unit can be damaged. Plug the power
cable (31) into the power socket (32) on the back of the unit and then into a mains
power socket.
