Standards for the adjustment of the teeth:

Be sure to use gloves for this job
Before filing:

Check that the chain is properly secured.

Make sure the engine is off.

Use a round file of proper size by the size of the chain.
Dimensions of the file: 5/32 inches (4.0 mm)
Locate the file in the tooth grinding and push straight forward. Keep the file in the position shown in
the illustration.
After each tooth grinding, measure the depth gauge and file it to the proper level as illustrated.
Note
Be sure to round the leading edge in order to reduce the risk of kickback or binding
of the chain.
Verify that the length and angle of the edge of all the teeth are the same as indicated in the
illustration.
