Please observe the manufacturer's instructions for all cleaning and
disinfecting agents.
Haag-Streit UK only approves the following cleaning and disinfecting
procedure. Other procedures and cleaning agents must be validated by
the user, any damage to the device is not covered under warranty.
Some parts of the device are not designed for frequent cleaning and
disinfection, and may become damaged after some time. These include:
• Eyepiece
• Device labels
The device labels are not designed for frequent cleaning and disinfection.
These may degrade if the process is repeated multiple times. If labelling of the
device has deteriorated the device must be decommissioned immediately
The optics (Fig 2, 7) are not meant for frequent disinfection and may be
permanently damaged if the process is repeated many times.
Do not submerge the device and prevent any ingress of liquid, this will
damage the device.
Parts of the device that are in contact with the Patient and/or Operator must be
cleaned and disinfected using CE/UKCA marked surface wipes, >70% isopropyl
alcohol or ethanol alcohol, prior to every examination.
During use, the external optical surfaces of the tonometer may become soiled,
particularly the outside surface of the eyepiece lens. Normally this is the only optical
surface that may require regular cleaning.
If required, wipe the optics with lens cleaning paper and cleaning solution starting in the
centre of the lens, wipe in a circular motion slowly and radially toward the edge of the
lens. Allow the lens to dry completely before use.
Safely dispose of cleaning materials in the local designated waste.
7.4 Charging the battery
The battery pack should only be recharged using the charger supplied
with the unit.
If the LED alternately flashes between orange and green, this indicates a battery
fault. In this case return the tonometer and battery charger to the manufacturer.
