REF.54373
Connect a diesel waste bottle with a tube to
the bottom of the gauge to collect waste fuel
when the pressure relief valve is activated.
Before starting the engine, visually inspect for
fuel leaks. If found, de-pressurize the system,
ensure fittings are tight, and then start the en-
gine and check for leaks again.
The engine may take a few seconds to start
due to air in the system, and the reading should
be around 300bar when cranking and at idle.
Increase engine speed while adjusting fuel
pressure.
If the engine doesn't start despite correct
pressure, it might be an electrical/injectors/
mechanical fault rather than the pump.
If the pressure does not reach the required
pressure, follow the below steps.
Test high pressure at the inlet of high pres-
sure with a low-pressure tester, then check
pump maximum pressure and perform injector
leakage test if correct.
Maximum pump pressure test.
To check a fuel system, locate the high-pres-
sure pipe from the pump to the fuel rail or in-
jector.
Disconnect the high-pressure pipe and con-
nect the gauge with either M12 or M14 hose.
Make sure hose fittings are tight before pro-
ceeding.
Place metal cap at tester outlet
