Use that appliance which is correct
for your application. The correct
appliance will accomplish the re-
quired task better and more safely.
Do not change the settings for the
motor speed controller and do not
permit the motor to be run using
too high a rotational speed. The
motor speed controller regulates
the maximum operating speed at
which the motor can safely be run.
Do not permit the motor to run at a
high speed if the soil has not been
processed.
Only run the appliance at a walk-
ing pace.
Be especially careful when turning
the appliance around or pulling it
towards you.
Make sure you have a secure foot-
ing on inclines.
Be especially cautious when
changing the driving direction on
an incline.
Do not place your hands or feet in
the vicinity of rotating parts.
Avoid contact with hot fuel, oil,
smoke gases and hot surfaces. Do
not touch the motor or the exhaust
silencer. These parts become ex-
tremely hot during operation. They
also remain hot for a short period
of time after switching off the ap-
pliance. Let the motor cool down
before carrying out maintenance
tasks or adjustments.
Should the appliance make unu-
sual noises or vibrate in unusual
fashion, switch the motor off im-
mediately, disconnect the ignition
cable and determine the cause.
Unusual noises or vibrations are,
generally speaking, a warning.
Only use connection plugs and ac-
cessories that have been approved
by the manufacturer. Non-obser-
vance of this requirement can result
in personal injury.
To avoid imbalance, only ex-
change worn or damaged working
tools and bolts set-by-set.
Carry out regular maintenance of
the appliance. Check to see wheth-
er parts in movement are incorrect-
ly aligned or blocked. Check these
parts to determine whether they
are broken or if other conditions
are present that could influence the
operation of the appliance. If dam-
age occurs to the appliance, have
it repaired before using it again.
Many accidents occur as a result
of using inadequately maintained
equipment.
Keep the motor and the exhaust
silencer free of grass, leaves, ex-
cessive grease and carbon accu-
mulations in order to reduce the
risk of fire.
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.
Carefully maintained cutting tools
with sharp cutting edges get stuck
