cycles. In this case, the depth adjustment
should be lowered anew before each cycle.
The cycles should each be carried out in turns
along the length and breadth of the plot.
- Do not attempt to work the soil too deep
during the first cycle. If the appliance suddenly
bucks or jerks forward, run the appliance over
the soil a little faster.
- If the appliance stops and becomes stuck,
move the handlebars back and forth until the
appliance begins moving forward once again.
- Removed unearthed stones.
Breaking up soils
NOTICE! RISK OF DAMAGE!
Soil that is too hard can result in damage to the
blade or other component parts.
Use the appliance to break up the soil before
cultivating.
Cultivation involves loosening or digging in areas
where plants are growing, in order to remove
weeds and break up the soil. The optimal working
depth is below 50 mm.
Transport
WARNING!
RISK OF INJURY!
If the appliance starts unintentionally and unex-
pectedly, this can result in injuries.
Switch off the motor before loading the appli-
ance onto a vehicle for shipment and, once the
motor has cooled down, disconnect the spark
plug connector from the ignition plug.
- Let the motor cool down before transporting or
loading in order to avoid burns and to elimi-
nate any risk of fire.
- Make sure the tank is completely empty before
transporting the appliance over a long dis-
tance.
- Hold the appliance firmly using both handles
and tip it forward until the machine is stand-
ing on the transport wheel 22 (see "Transport
wheel"). Pull or slide the appliance slowly
(walking speed). Push the appliance when
transporting it across a smooth, even surface. If
the surface underneath is bumpy, however, the
appliance should be drawn or pulled.
- Once the appliance is placed aboard the
transport vehicle, secure the appliance against
rolling, slipping or tipping over.
- Make sure that, during transport, the appliance
does not encounter obstacles, and make sure
no objects can fall onto the appliance. Do not
place any objects on the appliance and do not
lean any objects against the appliance.
Cleaning and maintenance

INJURY!
Some parts of the appliance become hot during
operation and can lead to burns or even start a
fire.
Always let the appliance cool down complete-
ly before performing cleaning or maintenance
on the appliance.
Cleaning
NOTICE! RISK OF DAMAGE!
If water penetrates the housing, this can cause
damage to the motor.
Clean the appliance with a cloth or hand
brush, etc.
Never submerge the appliance in water or
other liquids and never spray it or hose it down
using a high-pressure cleaner.
To clean the appliance, use a damp cloth and a
mild cleansing agent.
Coarse soiling on the underside of the appliance
can be removed with a garden hose and a large
brush. Do not allow any water or dirt to get into
the air filter or the exhaust pipe!
Maintenance
Adjusting the clutch
The clutch clearance changes as the clutch is
subjected to wear and tear. The clutch cable must
be adjusted in order for the appliance to operate
properly.
