in the 100 mm depth using gentle forward and
backward movements. Slowly pull the appliance
backwards and let the soil glide forwards over the
blade.
Starting the motor
Position the transport wheel
the locking mechanism snaps into place in the
slot provided for this purpose (Fig. I).
Adjust the gas lever
Press the fuel pump (primer)
times.
Start the motor using the pull starter
Pull carefully at first until you feel some resist-
ance, and then forcefully until the end. Repeat
this process until the motor starts. If, following
ten attempts, the motor still won't start, check
the section entitled "Troubleshooting" in these
operating instructions.
To operate the blades, pull the lock for the

Excessive tipping can cause oil to leak or find its
way into carburetors, combustion chambers, etc.,
thereby damaging the appliance.
If the appliance must be tipped at a greater
angle to perform maintenance, cleaning or re-
pair tasks, tip the appliance so that the ignition
plug is pointing upwards.
Switching off
Release the clutch lever

Adjust the accelerator

After completing the last working step, leave the
appliance to idle for a minute or two (hare posi-
tion), so the motor can cool down a little.
Soil processing
Cultivating the soil
During cultivation, the soil is plowed and dug up
and prepared on the seed bed.
The optimal working depth is between 100 mm
and 150 mm.
In addition, the appliance removes unwanted
plants from the soil.
The decomposition of these plant ingredients
enriches the soil.
Soil that is too dry crumbles into dust, with the
result that it cannot absorb water, and should
therefore not be cultivated.
- Water the soil for several days before cultivat-
ing.
Soil that is too damp produces unwanted
clumps during cultivation.
- Wait a day or two after heavy rainfalls, so that
the soil can dry.
- A properly cultivated plot of soil that is used
immediately following cultivation facilitates
plant growth, since the moisture is retained by
the soil.
- The actual working depth is determined by the
type of soil and the working conditions.
In the case of some soils, a single cycle can
suffice to reach the desired working depth. In
the case of other soils, the desired working
depth is only reached following two or three
